Hotel Astoria Alba Iulia
Accessibility statement
Last updated: October 2026
Hotel Astoria Alba Iulia (part of Florea Grup) is committed to making astoriahotels.ro usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. This statement fulfils the information duties of Romanian Law no. 232/2022 on accessibility requirements for products and services (art. 13 and annex 5), which transposes Directive (EU) 2019/882, the European Accessibility Act.
1. Description of the service
The website presents Hotel Astoria’s services (rooms and apartments, the restaurant, events and, in summer, Astoria Pool Park) and lets you send booking requests (room, event, “Green School” visit) and messages to the hotel online. The site is available in Romanian and English.
2. How online booking works
- Choose your arrival and departure dates, number of guests and room type (booking bar on the home page or the rooms page).
- Enter your name, phone and/or email in the booking form on the Contact page. Required fields are marked with “*”.
- After sending, a confirmation message appears on screen and is announced by screen readers. The request is not a confirmed booking: our reservations team contacts you to confirm and arrange payment. No online payments are taken on the site.
- If the form cannot be sent, the site automatically offers a pre-filled email and our phone number.
3. Compliance status
The site is designed to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), as referenced by the harmonised European standard EN 301 549. We consider the site partially conformant, with the known limitations listed in section 5.
4. What we have done
- Semantic structure (ordered headings, page regions, lists) and a “Skip to content” link on every page.
- Full keyboard navigation: visible focus; the mobile menu keeps focus while open and closes with Esc; tabs (rooms, menu, social media) work with the arrow keys.
- Text alternatives for images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Text contrast of at least 4.5:1, checked automatically; text can be enlarged to 200% and pages reflow down to 320 px wide without horizontal scrolling.
- Forms with visible labels, marked required fields and status messages announced to screen readers.
- Animations are reduced automatically when “Reduce motion” is enabled in your system; scrolling reviews have a pause button.
- The restaurant menu is available as an HTML page (Restaurant menu), not only as a PDF.
- Pages are available in Romanian and English, with the language correctly declared for screen readers.
5. Known limitations
- The PDF menu may not be fully accessible to screen readers. Please use the HTML menu, which has the same content.
- The embedded Google map is provided by a third party and has limited accessibility. The full address is also written as text: DN 1, km 387, Alba Iulia, jud. Alba, 517675, România.
- Date pickers in forms are the browser’s native controls and differ between browsers. You can also type the date with the keyboard.
- Social media content we link to (Instagram, Facebook) is not under our control.
6. Accessibility of the hotel
The hotel entrance has an access ramp. For other details about physical access (rooms suited to your needs, parking, assistance on arrival), please contact reception before your stay so we can prepare everything for you: +40 731 190 920 or office@astoriahotels.ro.
7. Booking alternatives
You can make any booking without the website: by phone on +40 731 190 948 (bookings and events) or +40 731 190 920 (reception), by email at office@astoriahotels.ro or in person at the hotel reception (DN 1, km 387, Alba Iulia, jud. Alba, 517675, România). The information in this statement is also available verbally, by phone or at reception.
8. Report an accessibility problem
If you have difficulty using the site or need information in another format, email office@astoriahotels.ro (subject “Accessibility”) or call +40 731 190 948. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and the technology you use (for example a screen reader or magnifier). We will reply as soon as possible and provide the information another way in the meantime.
9. Enforcement authority
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the authority that supervises accessibility requirements for e-commerce services in Romania: the Romanian Digitalization Authority (Autoritatea pentru Digitalizarea României, adr.gov.ro), under art. 19 of Law no. 232/2022.
10. How the site was assessed
Internal assessment, October 2026: automated testing (axe-core with WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 level A and AA rules; Google Lighthouse) on the main Romanian and English pages, plus manual checks of keyboard navigation, contrast and mobile layout. This statement is reviewed after every significant change to the site and at least once a year.
